Chalet Kazane

Description

Kazane is crowned by a distinctive crescent-shaped roof that gracefully curves in two directions, forming a striking architectural feature. The combination of cedar cladding, stone accents, and exposed timber structure creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a mountain retreat. The site was chosen for its proximity to a nearby creek, which carries a refreshing breeze, inspiring the name Kazane 風音, meaning “Sound of the Wind.”

To fully embrace the breathtaking views of Mt. Yotei, the top floor houses the living, dining, and kitchen areas, where guests can enjoy delightful meals and entertain under the soaring, curved ceiling. A wood-burning fireplace enhances the cozy ambiance. The custom kitchen, designed by Leicht of Germany, is perfect for preparing a feast, equipped with an IH cooktop, a full-sized AEG oven, a Miele steam cooker, a fish grill, and a wine cellar.

Spanning three floors, Kazane offers five western-style bedrooms, a traditional Japanese tatami room, a WC, a media room, a dry room with laundry facilities, and a single-car garage. With space for up to 14 people, it is ideal for groups of friends or extended families. The four en-suite bathrooms and a shared bath provide ample privacy, but the highlight is the soothing cedar-scented Japanese spa bath, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.

The interior of Kazane showcases a custom metal and timber dining table crafted by local artist RAM, as well as intricate timber joinery in the tatami room. Vibrant accents of color can be found in some of the bespoke wardrobes. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, including the selection of fixtures, with pieces by Agape.

Located in Niseko-Hirafu Lower Village, Kazane is just a short walk from popular local restaurants such as Rin, Ebisutei, and Koharuya, and a brief stroll to the village center. The Hirafu Free Shuttle Bus stops directly across the street, offering easy access to the slopes and a wide range of food and beverage options in Niseko-Hirafu.

Set on a spacious corner lot, Kazane offers ample yard space for children to play year-round. During the warmer months, a large balcony provides the perfect setting for al fresco dining and barbecues.
